What's on around Northwest Arkansas in November 2026

November 2026 · Northwest Arkansas, Arkansas

Somebody flips a giant switch on the Fayetteville square at six o'clock on Friday, November 20, and from that night the lights stay on until one in the morning, every night, until New Year's Day. The next evening, up I-49, Bentonville lights its own square at six sharp after an hour of performances. Six days before either of those, South Carolina comes to Razorback Stadium for the first time since 2022.

November in Northwest Arkansas runs on four dates: the election on the 3rd, South Carolina at Razorback Stadium on the 14th, Light Night on the Fayetteville square on the 20th, and Bentonville's Lighting of the Square on the 21st.

I'm Jeff Moran, NMLS #483943, a mortgage broker licensed in Arkansas through C2 Financial Corporation, and I have been in the mortgage business since 1996. I work out of Bluffton, South Carolina, and I have not been to these myself. Every date below comes from the organizer, the venue, the city or the state office that runs it, as each one has published it for 2026. Anything I could only find on a previous year's listing was left out of the dated list, and the ones I had to leave out are named near the bottom. I checked all of it on October 25, 2026. If you are looking at homes anywhere from Fayetteville up to Bella Vista this fall, the Northwest Arkansas buyer's guide covers the three counties here and the cities inside them.

Election day is Tuesday, November 3

Three issues are on the Arkansas ballot, and all three were referred by the General Assembly rather than by petition. The Secretary of State's notice for Issue 1 carries HJR 1018, called the Citizens Only Voting Amendment, which would limit voting to United States citizens who meet Arkansas's qualifications for an elector and would add photo identification requirements. Issue 2 is SJR 11, which would amend Article 2, Section 5 of the state constitution on the right to keep and bear arms. The University of Arkansas extension service's ballot-issue handout carries all three with the numbers the Secretary of State assigned them.

Issue 3 is SJR 15, on economic development districts inside cities, counties or cooperative areas, and the Secretary of State's notice says it would be effective on and after January 1, 2027. The initiatives and referenda page from the same office lists no citizen initiatives certified for this general election.

Polls are open from 7:30 in the morning to 7:30 in the evening, which the state's voting page and its election calendar both give. A nonpartisan runoff is held the same day where one is needed, and the general runoff is December 1. The county clerk in Benton, Washington or Madison County handles your registration and your polling place.

Issue 3 is the one a client buying here may hear about again later. An economic development district is a tool a city or county uses to fund growth, and this corner of the state has been funding sewer, water and road capacity as fast as it can build it. Sewer capacity is what decides which land here gets built on at all, which the buyer's guide linked above goes through in detail.

Two Razorback home games, and the Golden Boot on the 28th

The Razorbacks' own schedule has South Carolina in Fayetteville on Saturday, November 14, with kickoff in the flex window between 2:30 and seven in the evening. The schedule announcement notes it is South Carolina's first trip to Fayetteville since 2022.

LSU closes the regular season in Fayetteville on Saturday, November 28, in the Battle for the Golden Boot, with kickoff set for the early window between eleven and noon. The two road games in between are at Auburn on November 7 and at Texas on November 21. A home game weekend fills the hotels and the parking lots all the way down Razorback Road. If you are touring homes near campus on either of those Saturdays, you'll want to look at the traffic before you set the appointment.

Light Night on the Fayetteville square is Friday, November 20

Experience Fayetteville's own page for Lights of the Ozarks opens the season with Light Night at six in the evening on Friday, November 20, when the giant switch is flipped. After that the lights are on nightly from five in the evening until one in the morning, and they run through January 1, 2027. The display costs nothing to walk through.

Street closures around the square come with it, and the city posts them each year. The Lights of the Ozarks Parade is a separate night, and it falls on December 3 rather than in November. The three December parades have their own section further down this page.

Bentonville lights its square on Saturday the 21st

Downtown Bentonville's event page starts performances on the square at five in the evening on Saturday, November 21, and turns the lights on at six sharp. Downtown Bentonville's own release describes a laser light show added to the switch-flip in a past year.

The two squares light up on back-to-back nights this year, Fayetteville on the Friday and Bentonville on the Saturday, which makes that one weekend the busiest of the month in both downtowns.

Winter Lights opens on the Crystal Bridges campus on November 19

The museum's Winter Lights and Market page runs the lights from November 19 through January 2, 2027, on the Crystal Bridges campus, open Thursdays through Sundays from five to nine in the evening with some holiday closures. Tickets are sold for the lights, and the Winter Market alongside them is free for everybody. One of the museum's listings gives Thursday through Saturday instead of Thursday through Sunday, so I would check the night you plan on against the museum's own calendar first.

Keith Haring is up at Crystal Bridges, and two free shows are up at the Momentary

Keith Haring in 3D is in the new temporary exhibition space the museum's expansion added this year. The museum's own announcement puts a companion talk, Keith Haring's Life and Legacy, in the Great Hall on November 12.

Over at the Momentary, the old Kraft cheese plant on SE E Street, two exhibitions are up all month and both cost nothing to see. The Momentary's exhibitions page runs Lucy Sparrow's The Beginning of Convenience, a supermarket built out of felt, through July 11, 2027, and Chuck Ramirez's Ordinary Wonders, photographs of everyday objects, through January 10, 2027.

Walton Arts Center fills the rest of the calendar

Walton Arts Center's own listings open the month with Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock LIVE on November 1 and Neko Case on the 2nd. Time for Three plays on the 10th and Lyle Lovett on the 15th. The Coca-Cola Night Out series has Choir! presents Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac sing-along, on the 18th.

Jersey Boys takes Thanksgiving weekend. The center's page for it runs the show in Baum Walker Hall on Friday, November 27, Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th, added to the 2026-27 season as a bonus show. That Saturday is also the LSU game, so Dickson Street and the arts center garage will both be full.

The farmers markets split in two this month

Downtown Bentonville's outdoor market schedule ran its last Saturday on the square on October 31, and the indoor season picks up at Record on Saturday, November 7, with Saturdays on the 14th, 21st and 28th after it.

Fayetteville keeps its market outdoors longer. The market's own FAQ runs Saturdays on the square from April through November, skipping the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and holds a Holiday Market on the Square on Saturday, November 21 from seven in the morning to two in the afternoon. December holiday markets follow on the 5th, 12th and 19th, and the indoor winter market runs January through March at a location the market has not posted yet. The market also takes orders online year round for Thursday pickup.

Bentonville's First Friday Live is done for the year. Downtown Bentonville called the October event the last celebration of the 2026 First Friday season, so November has no First Friday on the Bentonville square.

Three parades land in December rather than this month

The three big holiday parades here all fall after November ends, so here they are now, rather than leaving somebody to drive downtown this month looking for one. Experience Fayetteville's parade page has the Lights of the Ozarks Parade on Thursday, December 3 at 6:30 in the evening, traveling along East Avenue, clockwise around the square and north on Block Avenue. The City of Rogers has the Rogers Christmas Parade on December 4 in downtown Rogers, coordinated by the Rotary Clubs of Rogers.

Visit Bentonville has the Bentonville Christmas Parade on December 12 at six in the evening downtown, which is three weeks after the square is lit.

Events I could not confirm for this year

Six things that turn up on November lists around Northwest Arkansas are not in the dated list above, because the organizer had not published this year's date when I checked on October 25.

The Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade is first on that list. Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11. The City of Fayetteville's release for last year's parade describes an eleven o'clock start that ran from East Avenue down Dickson Street to Spring Street, and that is the most recent dated version I could find. The city's own news releases are where this year's would appear.

Light Up Siloam Springs, the Christmas parade the Heritage League runs with Main Street Siloam Springs, has only archived pages up. Main Street Siloam Springs' Christmas page is where the date goes when it is set, and past editions have landed on the first Saturday in December rather than in November. Bella Vista posts nothing dated for November on the city's annual events page. Springdale had nothing dated for the holidays on its own pages when I looked, and Rogers has posted its December parade without posting a tree lighting.

Crystal Bridges ran free admission for veterans and active-duty military through a sponsor two seasons ago, tied to an exhibition that has since closed, and no 2026 version of that offer was posted. The museum's homepage does list veterans among the visitors who get in free, so that is the page to read before Veterans Day. If you are buying with a VA loan, how VA loans work in Arkansas covers entitlement and the funding fee.

New around Northwest Arkansas this year

Crystal Bridges got about half again bigger in June. The museum's own announcement describes a 114,000-square-foot expansion by Safdie Architects that opened to the public on June 6 and 7, increasing the museum's footprint by 50%. It added two galleries, one of them the temporary exhibition space holding the Haring show, plus a creative learning space called the Hub with artist-in-residence studios and a ceramics studio. Nearly 10,000 people came through over the two opening days.

Highway 112 is being widened from two lanes to four the whole way from Fayetteville to Bentonville. Talk Business and Politics' report on the start of the work puts the project at about $500 million across eight phases and 18 miles, ending in a four-lane road with a center median. The figure rises to about $700 million once right-of-way and utility relocation are counted. The first phase is a 1.44-mile segment awarded to APAC-Central. Highway 112 is the route a lot of drivers take to the airport and the alternative to I-49, so the work touches both. If you are choosing between a home on that corridor and one off it, the drive at the hour you would normally make it is the thing to measure.

Walmart has been moving office employees into its new Bentonville campus. Walmart's own announcement describes 350 acres and 12 buildings built for more than 15,000 employees, with the buildings opening in phases that began in January 2025.

A job that starts or moves changes which documents go on your loan file. For a salaried position, please provide your offer letter and your pay stubs covering the last 30 days, please. If you will be working for yourself once you get here, please provide your complete income tax returns, all pages and schedules, please. We will need the past two years for you personally and for any business that you may have an interest in. Pre-approval in Arkansas covers what gets reviewed before anybody writes a letter, and self-employed mortgages in Arkansas covers the returns side of it.

A home that changes hands here gets reassessed without the cap the previous owner had. Arkansas limits how fast a home's taxable value can climb after a countywide reappraisal, and that limit resets when the home sells. On a home someone has owned for years in a county that has appreciated like Benton has, please budget from the full value rather than from the current owner's bill. What happens to your property taxes after you buy explains how a sale reaches the assessment, and the Arkansas homestead credit covers the credit you claim on the home you live in.

Common questions

When do the Fayetteville square lights come on in 2026?

Friday, November 20 at six in the evening. Experience Fayetteville calls that Light Night, and the giant switch is flipped at the top of the hour. After that the Lights of the Ozarks are on nightly from five in the evening until one in the morning, through January 1, 2027, and walking the square costs nothing. The parade is a separate night, Thursday, December 3 at 6:30.

Which Razorback games are at home in November 2026?

Two of them. South Carolina comes to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday, November 14, with kickoff in the 2:30 to seven in the evening window, and LSU closes the regular season there on Saturday, November 28, with kickoff between eleven and noon, according to the Razorbacks' schedule. The November road games are at Auburn on the 7th and at Texas on the 21st.

Are the farmers markets open in November around here?

Both of the big ones are, in different places. The Bentonville market finished outdoors on October 31 and moves inside to Record for Saturdays starting November 7. The Fayetteville market stays outdoors on the square through November and holds its Holiday Market there on Saturday, November 21 from seven to two, then skips the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Are these events all in one city?

They are spread across three counties. Light Night is on the Fayetteville square in Washington County, the Lighting of the Square and Winter Lights are both in Bentonville in Benton County, and Madison County is the third county on this page. Northwest Arkansas is four cities in a line along I-49, each with its own city hall, school district and sewer utility. The city an address is in decides its code, its utility and part of its tax bill, and the county decides the rest. A mailing address does not tell you which city limits a home is inside, so both are worth looking up on the address itself. The Northwest Arkansas buyer's guide goes through that city by city.

I am moving to Northwest Arkansas this winter. Where should I start?

You'll want to start with which city and county the address is in, because that decides the tax bill, the sewer utility and the school district, and those three change from one side of a road to the other here. The second thing is the reassessment: your tax bill will likely be higher than the seller's, because the cap on a home's taxable value resets when it sells, so please budget from the full value. Arkansas also charges a real property transfer tax at closing, and your contract says whether you or the seller pays it. The Arkansas page covers that tax and the rest of the state's closing rules. Then please give me a call and tell me which cities you are looking in, and I can tell you what your numbers look like in each of them.
